Mission To bring music and arts instruction to the masses, regardless of age or focus, and provide a platform for the development
of professional and technical skills that will prepare every student to achieve his or her personal goals for artistic
expression through performance.
Vision To create an artistic community in which students of all ages and interests will have access to the instruction, training and
experience that will serve as the foundation for their growth and development as an artist and performer.
Philosophy We believe that creative people express that creativity in a myriad of ways. There are singers who paint, dancers who
play the piano, actors who garden, and guitarists who have a flair for fashion design.
Study in the arts should offer every student the opportunity to explore and develop their creative talents without bounds.
The most satisfying expressions are those that are heartfelt and a window into the creative soul of the artist.
CenterStage was founded on the belief that every artist should have access to a stimulating, nurturing environment in
which to indulge their creative spirit. Students should not only have the opportunity to learn from experienced artists who
guide them in the development of the skills, but have every opportunity to put those skills into practice in live performance.
Our multifaceted curriculum provides students every opportunity to learn and apply the skills they will need to sustain a
career in the arts. We envision an arts community that welcomes and supports developing artists of every kind.

Music is an underestimated phenomenon that has a therapeutic, spiritual, cultural and emotional effect on all of our lives
and is a unifying force, bridging cultural, religious, ethnic, and age differences in our diverse society.
Because music exists almost everywhere in the world, music is a thread that runs through all of our lives and connects the
human family. Our lives are surrounded by music everyday that we live: weddings, birthday parties, graduations, television,
movies, funeral, churches, airplanes, supermarkets, and elevators all present music for us to hear.
There is probably not a man, women or child on Earth who has not sung their favorite song or whistled a melody. Music
is inside all of us; and because of this everyone is a musician at heart; we think music and we live it. Music is a mode of
existence, a way of life that is much more than just a form of entertainment.
We believe that the performing arts are spiritual as well as technical, and as such, we are teaching students to heal the
planet through the arts as they perform for others, bringing joy, concert by concert, show by show.
European music, American music, Spanish music, Greek music, Indian music, French music, Korean music, Chinese music, African music, German music, Columbian music, Jamaican music, Russian music, Japanese music, Brazilian music, or any other music that you can think of are all created from the same 12 diatonic tones. There is diatonic equality in music. No one style of music is better or superior to the other.
Unlike other art forms, music is the only performance art that does not require sight to be enjoyed. Someone who is blind
can passionately enjoy music as deeply as someone who has the gift of vision; music is a microcosm of the world.

Theater is a multifaceted art form. It consists of diverse pieces that come together to create a single artistic expression.
Music, voice, physical movement, poetry, painting, construction, and dancing, all unite in the confines of a single stage.
Together with music, dance and visual art, theater offers the audience a creative experience that transports them to
another place and time. The drama of the stage allows the actors and the audience to become one in the storytelling of
life and humanity, comedy and tragedy, the true and the fanciful.

Poise and comfort on stage are essential for every performer. Whether acting a part, singing a song, or serving as a
member of the chorus, each role requires the artist to maintain a presence and a posture that compliments the
performance.
Instruction in creative movement and dance provides the artist the opportunity to learn how to use his or her body
effectively to achieve the desired expression. So much can be communicated through movement and dance to deepen
the emotion and the experience for the audience.
Dance is a beautiful way to say what otherwise might not be said, and to express that which is awkward to express in
words. The dancer expresses his or her art in a truly unique and personal way that allows the audience a glimpse into
a creative heart born to tell a story without words.
